Maha Burney, Creative Director at Nadir Firoz Khan Photography is a superb fashion stylist and art director. Her outfits are always well thought out and look great. What we like about Maha is that she loves high street brands and doesn’t feel the need to be in expensive labels head-to-toe.
After successfully launching her first ever standalone flagship store in Lahore, Nida Azwer launched her first retail store “Nida Azwer Atelier” in Karachi yesterday, marking her second store nationwide. The store is located at the newly constructed Ocean Tower situated near Do Talwar in Clifton. We are so proud of all our talented, enterprising and young designers like Nida!
Speaking about the opening of the Karachi store, Nida Azwer said, “This is our second shop launch within a month and we are extremely excited to have a retail store for our clients in Karachi. We have received a tremendous response from Karachi consumers who have long requested us to open an outlet in the metropolitan city. We are very excited about making the brand more accessible to a wider diversity of people. ”
“Nida Azwer Atelier” was inaugurated by Shahnaz Ismail, Dean of Design at Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture. The store features the label’s coveted prét line ‘The White Label’, a trendy and chic prêt a porter collection designed keeping in mind the contemporary woman who shops for clothes that are wearable, price accessible and in line with modern trends. Based in bright hues with the label’s signature modern silhouette, Nida Azwer has designed the collection to make “The White Label” an integral part of every woman’s wardrobe, with each piece staying true to her definitive attention to detail, cuts, play of colours and textures. The label is based in pure cotton, silk, linen, chiffon and cotton/silk net fabrics. It also includes pieces accentuated with the signature Nida Azwer screen printing and digital printing. The label’s Ready-to-wear formals will also be available at the new store, with Nida Azwer introducing her Kids Line in coming months.
The “Nida Azwer Atelier” in Karachi has been designed by Ahsan Najmi Bilgrami and the team at YOC’A. Public Relations for the event was handled by Lotus PR. For more information on the label please log on the official page for details: www.facebook.com/nidaazwerfashionhouse
Bonanza launched its Limited Edition Ready to Wear Pret line by MAHEENKARIM and Sanam Chaudhri- featuring new cuts, playful colours and prints designed specifically for the brand.
We wonder why they chose two designers instead of one. Perhaps because both designers are equally fabulous but possess a different design aesthetic.
Below are a few images of Sanam Chaudhri for Bonanza
Maheen says, “My vision of Maheen Karim Bonanza woman is strong, confident and stylish. She flaunts her femininity and has the power to move her world forward. Bring out the positive in yourself as you stand tall and dauntless in your Maheen Karim for Bonanza ensemble.”

The hair market in Pakistan just got more diverse and exciting as the new range of Toni & Guy Hair Meet Wardrobe was launched to a select group of bloggers, fashionistas and journalists in Karachi today.
The Toni & Guy Hair Meet Wardrobe philosophy believes in the total finished look and dressing from head and toe. A key range of hair styling products, neatly divided into looks as varied as Casual, Classic and Glamour, were introduced by Global Hair Ambassador Mark Hampton and the fabulous designer Feeha Jamshed in a fun presentation that saw eight models dressed and prepped in Casual, Classic and Glamorous looks.
The highlight of the evening was when a long table (where we were all seated) was converted into a catwalk and we saw the different looks on the models close up. The models had plenty of attitude as they walked the ramp to some seriously cool beats. As usual Frieha Altaf pulled off superb organization and choreography. Mark Hampton and Feeha J were all smiles, throughout the event and were busy giving interviews. It was great to catch up with the enterprising Fareshteh Aslam. The venue was done up by Anisa and Amina Rashid Khan in a super slick and stylish black and white theme. We enjoyed Zoe Viccaji and her band sing live (lots of Adele, Lana Del Ray and Florence and the Machine) while feasting on Salmon canapés. We left the event with products from each line and can’t wait to try them, especially the sea salt spray!
