Annem Zaidi’s first solo exhibition, “Being natural is simply a pose”, opens today- Monday 19th August at Taseer Art Gallery (formerly The Drawing Room).
Speaking about her work Annem says, ” Visually, my work may seem to be focusing on the female body, but there are a lot more levels under that first perception. The obscure characters allure the audience with their mystery, and the layered yet transparent attire creates an intriguing ambiguity. The high contrast adds drama to the deceptive persona of the figures, while the vague lines contouring the body make my approach towards figurative painting an unconventional one.”
